    Which is funny, what with how we'd all like to see Jay seamlessly combined with animal penis. Preferably that aggressive donkey memorialized by Punter back in the day.

    He wanted me to write one column that had Michael Phelps winning that day's race and another column that had him losing. Both would be filed long before the event, which, in some quarters, would be considered an editorial directive to cook up fiction.


    To be honest, he's right on this one. That's a bullshit practice, whether it's true or not...

    @What Would Kornheiser Do?: I suspect it is regular practice, and has been going on as long as newspapers have existed. I also think it's shoddy but that's not the issue. The issue is Jay being perfectly fine with it throughout his career then suddenly having a problem with it. What changed, Jay?

    I'm a bit too busy to hate bloggers or, really, anyone but terrorists and certain Illinois politicians. I just think they should be writing about Steve Smith, not Stephen A. Smith.

    I refuse to go to AOL for about the same reason I refuse to subscribe to ESPN Insider and risk getting one of those giant magazines sent to my house: there will be a list one day, a list of the dullards of the world, and I don't want to be on that list.
