    @Ibracadabra: He would not have been on the team and the game was in Niagara Falls. Not impossible--I'm sure he knew the people involved--just unlikely, in my opinion.

    We all like to embellish our connections to things that happen in the peripherals of our lives. Steve Atwater went to my rival high school and graduated the year before I was a freshman. But to hear me tell it, I tackled him at the 1 yard line in the final seconds of the State Championship game. Even though he was a linebacker.

    I just looked it up, and realized I am 3 months older than Ron Artest. This depresses me greatly for some reason- perhaps because I have not yet induced a riot that changed a professional sports league, nor seen a man killed with a blunt piece of furniture detritus, and I am almost 30.
