Liverpool took an early lead within the friendly confines of Anfield but they couldn't hold off red-hot Arsenal for the full 90 minutes. Liverpool took a quick lead courtesy of a low rocket delivered by Steven Gerrard on a fixed piece in the sixth minute. From there the defense took root in an attempt to keep Arsenal's showy attack off of the score sheet. The plan was going according to form until Cesc Fabregas came through with an 80th minute equalizer that pushed Arsenal back atop the table. The Gunners sit tied with Manchester United with the benefit of a game in hand.

And now for the best news of the day, Tottenham lost again! That's correct, the team that's always supposed to compete with the big boys dropped a 2-1 decision to a Blackburn team that's performing at a level the Spurs envisioned for themselves. The Rovers have battled themselves in a tie for forth with resurgent Chelsea, a lone point ahead of the Liverpudlians. Tottenham remains firmly entrenched in the relegation zone with Bolton and mighty Derby County.

Jose Mourinho was the Special One, but Didier Drogba is like Jesus Christ Superstar. My personal savior netted two goals en route to a 6-0 (SIX!) curbing of an exposed Man City squad. Sven hasn't been crapped on like that in months! Finally the top four is rounding back into form, especially after Liverpool brings the Gunners back to Earth in tomorrow's spotlight match from Anfield. Chelsea's win is the latest victory in a big turnaround week for my Blues, their mid-week Champion's League victory had them primed for a big performance today. They currently sit in fourth place, just one point behind City who will not finish in the top six. The rest of the results are after the jump...

Evil Manchester United regained their spot atop the table with a 4-1 drubbing over Middlesbrough. My old friend (and new enemy) Carlos Tevez scored twice to the delight of Ricky Hatton's entire gap-toothed family. The first came as a result of a nifty exchange with fellow troll Wayne Rooney.

Marcus Bent added two more meaningless goals to his career totals. Once again his contributions are going for naught as Wigan gave up two separate leads in a 3-2 loss to Birmingham City. Wigan had a chance to pull away from Tottenham Hotspur (HA!) and their relegation zone mates but an Oliver Kapo penalty sealed their fate for now.
