as noted above, it's a bullshit rule, in that doc rivers would have selected miller's replacement. inother words, thuggery pays when you have the refs in your pockets. the celtics are always at "home," wherever they play.
@supermike5alive: Assuming your team is lucky enough to make it that far are you up for another bet this year? I'm still bummed I had to use the Celts avatar last season after losing.
Retribution for Miller raping Ray Allen and somehow getting him fouled out on an off the ball 'double-foul' in the middle of the 4th and laughing about it all the way to the bench.
@Mo Knows Ladies: Wait, a double foul is as equally sketchy as jacking a guy in the face and knocking him loopy? Only in Boston.
And besides, if Allen hadn't fouled out on that play, he would have within a minute or so when the refs caught him grabbing onto Gordon's jersey or body checking him on a cut or sticking his leg out on someone as they cut or one of the myriad tactics made famous by 1990s Rileyball that Allen has been pulling all series, even all season. The refs clearly were told to watch him for that kind of crap. Because they're fouls.
Tommy Heinsohn wonders why a foul was even called on this play. He sees nothing wrong with Celts defense on the play. If there is a foul, it is on Miller for biting.
There's a look on Brad Miller's face akin to the Madonna though, so serene...so accepting of his playoff ineptitude. I mean even the King of Kings didn't come through in the clutch, neither did this former King.
@Sense_da_Merger:if we're going to mix sports metaphors, I think the King of Kings actually did step up to the plate in the clutch, but that's my opinion, I suppose.
Tony Allen fouling another player taking game tying three with under 30 seconds for a free 3 points. I wish Rondo would punch HIM in the face, then this never would have happened...
I agree with Simmons ... this is the most exciting playoff series between two teams that don't have a fucking chance in hell of winning the championship ever.
@Her?: Why not have John Salmons punch Paul Pierce in the face every time Pierce went up for a shot? Apparently socking another player in the jaw is a clean foul, if the Rajon Rondo/Brad Miller play is any indication.
@supermike5alive: Hey, I also thought that the 6th foul on Allen was complete BS. But it doesn't change the fact that Brad Miller was absolutely mugged by Rajon Rondo as he was going to the basket and no flagrant foul was called. I don't see how anybody can say that Rondo was going for the ball when the ball was nowhere near Miller's head.
I'm not sure how I feel about the play, its one thing to foul and prevent the layup, its another to knock the dude's tooth out. You want to at least look like you are going for the ball; in this case, he was, what seemed to be, 3 feet away from the ball and just swiped at his head.
To make matters worse, if Miller couldn't shoot those shots, Doc would be able to select the shooter off the Bulls bench.
/anyone else imagine the Simmons' household when Perkins abandoned Miller on the last inbounds play? My guess is SportsGal took a harder punch in the mouth than Miller.
@That-Dude: Yeah ... I mean, I get why he did it and that it's sometimes necessary. It's just annoying that you can get beat on defense, then just hurt someone and get rewarded for it.
