    @sagehenbait: I'm officially listed as 5'8", so I'm not *that* short, especially in NYC, where "short" means sub-5'6".


    But elsewhere in the country, yeah, I'm undersized.

    @Le Kangourou de Kataroo: That "short" distinction you've got there is interesting. I've been operating under the assumption that most women rarely go for a guy shorter than them.

    My version of Candace Parker's Secret Lover's secret gym crush (gasp) was a girl I used to see around a couple times a week, who probably had almost two inches on me (I'm about 5'9 and a bit). That was just enough to put me off.

    Well, that and the fact that I'm probably ten years older.

    @Colin White Devil: Maybe this is where I'm an anomaly, because I date much older and have dated shorter. I prefer somewhat older and taller, but I don't have a certain type (I've weirdly dated a lot of Andrews, but I don't think that counts) that will or will not automatically exclude someone from consideration. It's more about how someone carries themselves and not how tall someone actually is.

    @spinachdip: Luckily, the average height for women is 5'4", so there's plenty of women out there that you tower over. 5'7" just gets a little Tom Cruise for me.

    @Colin White Devil: I've been with taller girls, and I try not to have stupid rules that limit my options, but I probably couldn't do two inches. Basically, I want her to be able to wear shoes with some heels and still have a conversation without looking up.

    @Le Kangourou de Kataroo: I'm not sure what I meant to say is what I said (or something)-perhaps I should have put "hot" into quotation marks, as I was remarking on the show's concepts of hotness, not my own.


    -From what I saw, she was a genuinely beautiful girl. Many of the other contestants were beautiful, but it was all fluff--plastic surgery, make up, lots of cleavage, etc.


    I did not watch the show closely, but it seems likely that they took a beautiful girl and put glasses and pigtails on her so that they could then do a "make-over" and voila! now she's beautiful just like these other girls. But in my view, she was already MORE beautiful than the other girls, and genuinely so.


    Sorry if what I said came across offensive. None was intended. I myself go for the pigtail/glasses type (when I go anywhere at all).

    @Kid Canada: I've never once been asked by any family members, near or far, when I'm gonna find a nice girl and settle down. And I'm not gay, nor as far as I know do I trip anyone's faulty gaydar. They just seem not to care at all. And that's good, because I don't know a woman within 400 miles of me right now, much less am I going to Jared's anytime in the foreseeable future.


    So looking online without having seen the show, I see the nerdy ballerina that people have been talking about. She's cute, and I like tall girls (not even being that tall myself) but I'm a sucker for good posture, and I'm innately wary of anyone who describes their humor as "sarcastic."

    @Le Kangourou de Kataroo: I really want a onesy (onesie?) to wear to bed. I have a friend who has this hideous green flannel one that's kind of a skirt type thing on the bottom with leg holes (so basically a sleeping bag with holes). Quite frankly it's awesome and looks super warm.

    @Craig Eshericks Mustache: oh god no. I love being tall. I lament that I never hit 5'10". i wish it were easier to find pants that fit my waist and my legs (oh red pants, how i will never own you), but i love towering and being tall and kinda gangly like a baby giraffe.

    @Le Kangourou de Kataroo: well, you're about 2 standard deviations out and I'm assuming that humans follow a normal distribution for height, which means that about 95% of all women would be contained within 2 standard deviations.
