For the first time, last night, his team looked like it cared, like it had a lot to lose, and the result was, therefore, self-evident.

Warriors fans are stunned — "I am stunned. I really didn't think it was possible. Did the Warriors just lose a playoff game at home?" — and the Jazz fans are a little too overconfident (the local paper is calling them "unbeatable."). But right now, the Jazz have the Warriors in the same position that the Pistons have the Bulls. Both those series might very well be over tomorrow night.

Oh, and we hope LeBron James didn't watch his former teammate Carlos Boozer last night, or he will never stop screaming.

<![CDATA[Jerry Sloan Is Making His Players Cry]]> The Utah Jazz — our official Western Conference adopted team for the NBA Playoffs, and not just because of Deron Williams and Dee Brown — are in some serious trouble after their loss to the Rockets last night. Utah is down 2-0 in the series — as is Orlando after last night, but no one suspected that would turn out any differently — and they're grasping for answers.

Carlos Boozer wasn't the problem last night, what, with his 41 points, and it's not like Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming went off either. The real reason for the loss, says an exasperated Utah Jazz Blog, is Jerry Sloan, who, in their view, tends to enjoy national press that outshines his day-to-day decisions. Singled out among his mistakes? His lack of playing time for Andrei Kirilenko, who we vaguely remember once being a star but now is lucky to score in double-digits. He's got the poor guy so upset that he's crying on the bench.

If only he had some way of letting off some steam.

<![CDATA[Do Not Paint Carlos Boozer's House Purple]]> Things that are hysterical about The Smoking Gun report about a feud between Utah Jazz forward Carlos Boozer and Prince. (Yes, that Prince.)

• Carlos Boozer had Prince as a tenant. We still haven't quite gotten over this.
• Carlos Boozer is upset enough with Prince to sue him. Imagine Boozer's conversation with his lawyer. "Carlos, you understand ... we're suing Prince. You get this, yes?"
• Prince is serious about the whole purple thing. According to the suit, Boozer claims Prince broke the lease by "painting the exterior of the [house] with purple striping, 'prince' symbol and numbers 3121."
• Beauty Shop! Another section of the lawsuit: The plumbing and piping added in the downstairs bedroom "for water transfer for beauty salon chairs."

We're really not sure where to go with this story. Carlos Boozer renting out property to Prince. It's too early in the morning for this.
