    Odd news. Just found out my ex (who I had dated for 5 years) is engaged. We've been broken up for little over a year. I'd like to say I am happy for her. It's just all... weird. It'd help if her now fiance wasn't what appears by all accounts to be an alcoholic.

    @Katni: I'm alright. I was the one who ended things, b/c I didn't see us ever getting to that point. Which is why its weird that I feel weird about it in the first place. I guess that's the sort of thing that will always be odd on some level though.


    I do realize there are much better fishies in the sea. She was how shall I say this gently... had a pension for being boring, moody, and untrustworthy. Hence.. breakup.

    @Katni: We always had SO MUCH FUN! haha, yeah feel free to laugh. I'm laughing myself about the fact that just two months ago she wrote me this long email about how she often thinks about how different things would be if we never broke up. OOPS!


    I either meet a beautiful girl with a semi personality (this one)
    or a 5 or 6 on the hotness scale with a great personality but some sort of physical trait that drives me crazy in the beginning.


    shallow? maybe. I just need to go all Weird Science and create a girl from scratch.

    @Shakey: I usually follow up once with contacts like that, but it's completely up to you. There's little chance you'll end up working there (from your wants as much as theirs), but if you think they can give you any good advice, it might be worth it.


    By emailing them initially, you justified me getting in touch with them, so it's all up to you from here out.

    Happy St. Patty's Day all. Just celebrated my 21st tonight and tomorrow should be a good follow up, followed by Wednesday at the Knicks/Nets, and Thursday's tournament games at the bar, and Fridays Nets/Heat game in NJ, and Saturday's Ranger game at the Garden.     @TheOnlyNetsFan: I used to live on 1st Ave on the Upper East Side, near all the bars where the off-duty cops and parade-goers wind up after the parade. Seeing the shit-show that results from 12 hours of drinking on my street turned me off St. Patrick's Day partying for good.


    Also, I'm 35 and I've outgrown that sort of thing. But you, you should go out and live it up.
