Today the mere mention of the name sends both Red Sox fans and fantasy baseball owners to jump into the nearest bush shrubbery, but back before he was out licking his World Series ring with groupies, he was the postseason hero of a Red Sox team that — and this will be difficult to remember — was actually kind of charming at the time. No, really. Lots of people thought so.

So anyway, Foulke, realizing that the only parts of his career worth remembering have already happened, has decided to stake his claim to history. He wants the World Series-winning baseball.

"It's not on my mantel where it should be," Foulke told the Hartford Courant. "As far as I know, I've never heard of a team wanting the ball so badly. It's one of those deals where I got the last out. I think that's kind of the common practice in baseball [to give the ball to the pitcher on the mound]."

Foulke, who went on to say that he'd like his shoes back from the Hall of Fame, is obviously trying to hang on to every smidgen of 2004 as he can. You know, somewhere in Foulke's study, there are two shelves of differing kinds of lip gloss, all mementos of an older, simpler time. Some are even bronzed. Those were truly special.

<![CDATA[Jim Edmonds, Gold LOVER]]>
We've been so caught up with lesbian cheerleaders and fake press conferences — both of which, just to wrap all this up, we'll be checking back with later today — that we forgot to check in with the great On The DL girls this week. We're sorry, ladies! We still have nothing but love.

Anyway, they've compiled another great collection of drunk, whoring around baseball player photos, and, just to prove to you that we're not too St. Louis Cardinals blind loyal, we present that pretty fantastic one of notorious fun guy (and, yes, Gold Glover) Jim Edmonds. Other fun hits this week include Kevin Millar, World Series MVP Jermaine Dye and the inevitable Keith Foulke, who we swear must have closed every bar in every American League city by now. Enjoy!

<![CDATA[Checking In With The On The DL Girls]]> It has been a while since we checked in with the lovely ladies of On The DL, the site full of blind items about Major League Baseball players. So, how's it going over there? Well, it appears that already very busy Boston "closer" Keith Foulke has been even more busy, flashing the World Series ring bling with various blonde eyeliners all across the Webshots universe. (That's him, above, sticking his head in from the side. There are a tons more where he's facing the camera, but that one made us laugh the hardest.) These might have something to do with Foulke's recent divorce ... and perhaps injury problems?

Oh, and we're told this item is fellow Red Sox hurler Wade Miller, in case you're scoring at home. Hey, at least the Red Sox have more time off now.

<![CDATA[Ladies Help Manny Be Manny]]> More great Webshots searching by On the DL today: The above picture is of Red Sox dingbat Manny Ramirez partying it up with a bunch of ladies he met at a bar earlier that night. (He appears to be teaching them how to "dance.")

Other great shots include surly White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski trying to bed some gals (and failing), Yanks testicle-shriveler Jason Giambi signing some boobs, Al Leiter boozing up with college kids and a rather detailed dissertation on precisely why Red Sox "closer" Keith Foulke is getting divorced. Great stuff.
