    @The Professor:


    1. This is and the Pinella bit have been about pissing people off. Also the Mentalist was the first time through; when you keep doing the same thing it becomes tiresome.


    2. The Mentalist wasn't a constant thing; you didn't see the Mentalist 10 times a thread.


    3. The Mentalist was a joke about CBS's over pimping of the show during sports; again this, like the Pinella bit, is just about seeing how annoying a dick they can be.


    4. This isn't Second City; DUAN may have relaxed rules, but it still has some; if it isn't a place to spill out your personal problems, then why is it a place to try out your performance art?

    @Hank Scorpio-Steinbrenner: I agree with you in theory, especially your summary of THE MENTALIST, and especially about the "Don't be a dick" thing. Where I diverge is that just because something annoys some people but not all, I don't think it makes that person a dick.


    Pinella, for me at least, was obviously intentionally over-the-top and I found him funny. CONFICKER I don't think did anything dickish until he responded to you. He wasn't really funny, but it didn't really hurt anyone.


    Not meaning to start a fight with you here at all, I guess my point is just the whole "Different strokes" thing.

    @Saberhagendaaz: The nicest thing about the Deadspin comments (up until commenters like Conflikr, Mentalist, etc.) has been the relative lack of spam. Their comments don't even try to contribute to any discussion or try to bring in humor into a particular thread. Their comments are only self-serving and annoying as all hell.

    @Kick His Ass Seabass: It's a good compliment to USSMariner. The writing isn't as sharp as USSM's. However, they tend to be ahead of USSM in regards to posting their reactions to breaking stories earlier than USSM, but it's only a matter of an hour or two. You should definitely check it out though.

    @Katni: Ska because I've been listening to old RBF/LTJ all day and been in a F'N A good mood, I'm sure I'll be referencing it during DUAN for the next couple of weeks. (my old myspace was myspace.com/savetheska - GUK, because I'm an older fan, and my stupid friends had to schedule their engagement party on the same day the GUK reunion tour hits NY, and I've been not so happy about that. I'm considering driving to Boston, or whatever the next closest state is to see them - Up to 150 mile radii.
