    @CumaeanSibyl: I'm basing this on his body of work. He's been surrounded by shitty players since entering the league. Today he played on a relatively level field and excelled.

    @formerly Chief Wahoo: One, he's not a rookie anymore, and two, if by "level field" you mean he was playing both with and against shitty players, then sure, but I don't understand your point. A mediocre QB could excel in that situation.

    They've been saying "he has great stuff" since he played for the Irish, but it hasn't shown up yet. I can think of plenty of Lions QBs who were damned with the same faint praise.

    @DCott: As a Longhorn fan, I'm still bitter that he (temporarily) replaced Major Applewhite in whatever season that was. Anything that Simms threw farther downfield than a WR screen was as liked to be intercepted as it was to be completed. #nflupdates

    Is the Giants pre-season schedule now over? Skins, Cowboys, Bucs, Chiefs and Raiders to start the season. Those 5 teams have 6 wins total and 4 of them are amongst each otherm plus the Cowboys beat the 1-3 Panthers and the Skins beat the 0-5 Rams.
