    My favorite quote about Pete Johnson came from the Bengals' Harvard-educated punter Pat McInally. Pat discussed Pete's prowess on the basketball court, specifically, his ability to dunk. I quote from memory:

    "Pete could dunk. Absolutely. It was like watching a building jump."

    When Pete took the ladies out for pizza he would always slip the gorilla a $20 bill to play this before heading back to The Cisco Kid in the parking lot.

    God this makes me feel old. As a Bengals fan I remember Pete Johnson who was on the team that played in Super Bowl XVI. Johnson was later traded to San Diego for James Brooks who played a critical role on the team that lost Super Bowl XXIII. And the suburban pizza chain referred to in the story is Showbiz Pizza Palance, the main competitor to Chuck E. Cheese. Actually Showbiz ended up buying Chuck E. Cheese once it went bankrupt but assumed the Chuck E. Cheese name and branding. Those establishments were a bigger deal back then when video arcades were popular because the games were of superior quality to what you could get on your Atari 7800 or NES.
