    I just got back from an UAB basketball game. (UAB beat USF in overtime.) This is important to you all because Brady Quinn was there. I guess he was in town seeing Dr. Andrews, he had his hand in a cast.


    I didn't have the balls to go up to him to ask if he ever visits this fine site, even though I was standing close enough to take a crappy cell phone shot.

    If math students have to show their work, why not do the same for papers? Keeping good notes is good practice anyway. I can't see what harm it could do, at least at high school level.

    a lot of comp and even lit professors ask their students to either print out their sources or email the sources to them. I have 120+ students this semester, so I can't do that. I just google their papers when I get suspicious.

    @Slothrop: I didn't step into a library my first 2 years on campus. Though, we have an online library too, which helps.


    These kids probably don't even know what bubonic plague is. If you told em they could get it from beer pong, they'd stop playing for months. Or maybe a week.

    @CaliCheeseSucks: I have never used the library on campus here, but that's mainly because it resembles a shopping mall more than a library. I find myself using Lexis/Nexis or Gale for pretty much everything, and I'm an English major, so that's probably pretty sad.


    Well, there is the $800 worth of books I buy every semester, but we never get through more than two of those per class.

    I loved my college libraries. The old Emory library is right on the quad and has a great social reading room. I met and courted my last college girl-friend there.


    The main campus library rises up seven stories over the campus and you can see the whole campus and all the way into Atlanta from the top floors. It's a fantastic resource.

    So, I go to use my gym's steam room today (NYSC, for any New Yorkers), and there's a sign outside the door that says something along the lines of, "We've been informed of inappropriate activity in our steam room. Please be aware your memberships can be revoked if you do not follow proper gym procedures. It will be closed indefinitely for cleaning."


    Would you still use it once it's, um, sanitary, or is there no going back after that?

    As an Auburn fan, the whole Tuberville situation has me bummed. There are two teams I would say I was a die-hard fan of, Auburn football and Braves baseball.

    This is the first coaching change with either of them I have had as an adult.
