    @MarkKelsosMigraine: God knows Jim Boeheim isn't responsible. Overrated coach in my humble opinion. Jim, GET OUT OF THE 2-3 ZONE AND PLAY MAN ONCE A DECADE.


    I hope he taught the talent he's got this year how to play zone defense if he insists on relying it for the 89th season in a row. They have so much potential but their zone was the worst I can remember last year.

    @wonderlic---myballs: Honestly, having watched 80% of the Syracuse games the past 15 years, I think Boeheim is a genius. He developed that zone because he had trouble recruiting speed in the beginning. And when he plays it with fast guys (1987, 1996, 2003) it is deadly. And while it is true that Keith Smart had that open look because of the zone, it has won a lot more than it has lost.

    @MarkKelsosMigraine: 250 of his career wins are against Colgate, Ithaca, Binghamton, etc. They always start out 12-0, because they don't leave the state of NY until league play. Thats why they always get screwed over by the selection committee. Non conference play.


    I know Jimmy B has done a lot of good for the program, but you have to adapt. When teams are beating your zone you have to adjust, not whine at the refs with your palms facing the ceiling. Big East is going to be nasty this year.

    @wonderlic---myballs: What big time coach doesn't have a substantial number of wins over overmatched opponents? But I agree they get screwed because they don't play a tough enough schedule early.


    If you remember, he developed a press zone in the early 90s (everybody called it "40 minutes of hell" and credited it to Nolan Richardson) so it's not like he coaches in a vacuum. When he has talent (ie jumpshooters and rebounding) he wins. And Jonny Flynn is the balls.
