    Damn it all. I just spent the best part of an hour looking for my comment from when Cutler was installed as QB at Denver. Something to the effect of--Bookmark this page. 3 years and Cutler is no longer a starter.

    I didn't bookmark the page. By my estimation, I have 10-14 days leaft to be proven correct.

    Chicago has to be full of fucking retards if they think this is all, or even mostly, Cutler's fault.

    First problem: no O-line.
    Second problem: no one to throw to.
    Third problem: Terribly predictable offensive coordinator.
    Maybe 4th or 5th problem: quarterback play.

    Based on a discussion I had with three of my friends after many beers and shots, our assessment is basically the same that you listed above.

    I would also note, specifically, that Devin Hester is the #1 receiver.

    @Chris Hanson's Axe: Quarterback play is the third problem... Receivers probably 5th. Offensive Coordinator is 2nd. Horrible overall coaching #4.

    This is nothing new... the bears got luck and went to the super bowl in 2005 and that game is where the coaching was exposed. 1 team came prepared... the other came to ride on the coat tails of the best kick off and punt returner ever... Now he's an average receiver thanks to awesome coaching.

    Matt Forte... Awesome with no offensive line. Thanks to awesome coaching... below average this year.

    The fix nees to happen from the Top Down... not the bottom up.

    @Dethzilla: Thank you for this comment, as you have unwittingly illustrated the exact point I was making.

    Broad and misspelled generalizations like "The fix nees to happen from the Top Down" are why, as CanHeHackett pointed out, NFL fans are idiots. You mention all the problems the Bears have with their coaching, yet still blame Cutler as your #3 problem. Are you serious? Stick with one theme. Even as you recognize the real problem, you still, as a Pavlovian reaction, feel the need to blame the quarterback. "Bad team? (drool) Fuck the QB!"

    @Chris Hanson's Axe: Good Point Chris... I probably shouldn't have Cutler in the picture except for the fact that when faced with adversity HE MAKES BAD DECISIONS! You don't have to get rid of a quarterback to improve the position... how about teaching the guy some patience or simple smart football decision making.

    Throwing the ball away instead of forcing it may have kept us in several games!Wanting the quarterback to play better doesn't make a fan an idiot.... when your quarterback throws the ball to the other team with no tipped balls, no blind spots or anything... IT'S THE QUARTERBACK'S FAULT. And when it happens as much as it has this season, regardless of the system he plays in... IT'S THE QUARTERBACK'S FAULT.

    @Dethzilla: And this is exactly why I questioned why anyone would want to trade the farm for Jay Cutler. He threw buckets of interceptions last year in Denver with an all-world o-line and really good receivers, and he STILL made bad decisions.

    You can blame the defense all you want. Fact is, he puts his defense in some very bad positions.

    Also: can we stop calling him a franchise QB? Franchise QBs can win games with no help. Guys that need all-world wideouts and an incredible o-line to win games are called game managers. And that's what Cutler is: a game manager with a spectacular arm.

    @GoSpeedRacistGo: Great Points. I'm not saying Jay Cutler is a bad quarterback... he has a great arm, decent speed, and other tangibles... it's just that he's not making good decisions. he's not the godsend everyone makes him out to be... not yet. He still needs to be developed.

    @Chris Hanson's Axe: "This thread" isn't the end-all and be-all on this issue. And of the people who've posted here who appear to ACTUALLY LIVE IN CHICAGO who voice an opinion on Cutler, they don't appear to have "turned on him".

    See, considering the opinions here of people who actually live in Chicago would seem to be where you would start if you, you know, want to float the premise that Chicago hates Jay Cutler.
