Q: What do Pink Floyd and Dale Earnhardt Sr. have in common?
A: Their last big hit was The Wall.

Shift+command/apple+4 (hold all at the same time)
You'll see a cross pop up on your screen. Highlight what you want with your cursor while holding down the mouse (or trackpad button if you're on a laptop).
When you release the button after you've highlighted your intended image, you should hear a camera's "shutter" sound.
The file will be on your desktop.

@Pete Gaines: By "instinctive" I mean, a good hitter knows when to blindly swing at a pitch because he's got an "idea" as to what is coming.
It's when a manager sends the runners on first and second with no outs on a 1-0 count just to apply pressure on the pitcher to throw a straight fastball. (You could argue that this is situational baseball, but you have to have a gut feeling as to when to do it.)
It's leaving a pitcher in when he's got the bases loaded, 1 out and he's thrown 100 pitches.
It's stealing second against the battery of vintage Randy Johnson and Pudge Rodriguez because you think you have the timing down.
It's those moments where you swing away, take the extra step off of the bag, or leave the pitcher in against the odds (because most batters fail 70% of the time).

I read it a couple of times a week, but I don't actively comment on it. Frankly, I don't look at baseball in the UZI/SABR/etc. manner that they do.
However, I've been typing "Ichiro!" long before I stumbled upon USS Mariner.
It's a great blog...one of the best out there.

It really is a fantastic blog, and one of the best team-oriented blog in any sport IMO...

I'd like to think some of these guidelines would apply, too.
@StevePerryPsychOut: I just went back and read the Commentist Manifesto, the original. BoSox Siobhan points out that "If you can't follow these rules, head to KSK. There are no rules there."
And she's right, and it's fair to assume a higher standard than that here. Gawker/Denton/Pete have the full-fledged right to ban, disemvowel, and mock all the comments they deem crap.
But I'd say we're still a long way from being Craigslist. For one, we still know how to find the Shift key, even if we're doing so one-handed.

Regardless of what it is now, DUAN came into existence when a bunch of post-college professionals realized that
a) you can't go out to bars every night when you've got a day job and
b) there are a lot of other commenters on Deadspin who feel the same way. There were people all over the country, generally between the ages of 20-35, who used Deadspin's last post of the day as a place to discuss the evening's sporting events. As happens when you start running into the same people night after night at a bar, or at work, or wherever, the conversation starts to meander off of sports. There were some pretty awesome, high-level discussions about music, politics, literature, current events, cooking, journalism, what have you. Pretty much anything. A bunch of people realized that they had a lot in common and everyone was a pretty decent conversationalist. They were the same kind of conversations you'd have with a group of friends at a bar, or at a party, or anywhere that doesn't involve typing on a computer in order to talk to people.
If that's a problem for you, then I suggest that the problem is not in fact with anyone but yourself.

@CoolHwhip: Nice. Are you visiting relatives, or just returning to remind yourself why you left?

Did you go to the Sounders game the other night?

a couple of DUAN links=not?
We obviously went overboard and will cease and desist, but trying to impose this on DUAN seems a bit myopic.
