Canada is cold, footage at 11.
The CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders have been getting into the holiday spirit. On the Mosaic Stadium scoreboard, the team has been running video of a Yule log, crackling gently to bring some cheer and comfort in these cold Regina nights. In the past few weeks, four people have called 911 to report a fire.
Yesterday we brought you word that the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders, employers of one Chris Leak, had acquired negotiating rights to Columbus-area sports memorabilia dealer Terrelle Pryor. Today, Canada heard the bad news: Pryor is apparently not down with three downs.
Regina just ain't big enough for the both of 'em. Because neither is really a competent passer, and both are long separated from their former glory.
Leron Mitchell broke his leg during the Grey Cup last night. It's really awful, but the YouTube description is beautifully poetic: "Leron Mitchell snaps his leg during the CFL championship game. His team also lost." When it rains in Canada, it pours.
In sports, everyone is a winner-some people just win better than others. Like CFL QB Henry Burris, photographed wearing a bra, with a woman who's not his wife. Oh, and the pictures fell into the hands of the fanbase he spurned.
The battle for the CFL championship kicks off in a few minutes (I think they have kickoffs), and we'll soon know once and for all which is the greatest football city on earth: Montreal or Regina. [CFL]
