Clay Bennett Is Happy To Screw Oklahoma Too

For some reason, we imagined Oklahoma City welcoming Clay Bennett and the Sonics with arms extended, lying prostrate, screaming "thank you" to the heavens. Anytime someone does something to a city as horrible as what Bennett has done to Seattle, there has to be someone who benefits, right? Other than just the owner? Isn't this a grand celebration in Oklahoma City? Well, not necessarily: It appears Bennett's trying to screw them too. More »

Draft Kevin Durant Meets Its Namesake

You may remember the great Draft Kevin Durant site, which implored the Blazers to draft Durant over Greg Oden. One might say the pick worked out well for both the Sonics and the Blazers; the Sonics have their franchise player to take with them to Oklahoma City and the Blazers are the NBA's hottest team, and they still have Oden to look forward to. But Draft Kevin Durant has remained doggedly insistent, and yesterday their persistence paid off. More »

Knicks Keep On Falling ...

The NBA Closer is written by our own Canadian weekend maestro J.E. Skeets. When he's not busy scouring the box scores or trying to find Schenectady, NY on a map, he can be heard on The Basketball Jones daily podcast. Enjoy!

• Pile On. With NBA "Heritage Week" in full swing, the Knicks decided to wear uniforms from their 1972-73 season — the last time they won a championship. So how'd the old/new digs work out? Oh, gee, take a wild fuckin' guess. Kevin Durant dropped 30 points and Jeff Green added 17 as the 6-17 Seattle RookieSonics beat the shitastic Knicks 117-110. Adding insult to injury, former Knicks forward Kurt Thomas scored five clutch points over the final few minutes to seal the deal. C'mon, Isiah ... Kurt Thomas? Can that dude even see straight? New York falls to 6-15, tied with Miami for the worst record in the East.
