Had a girlfriend once who was a vegetarian. I asked her why, since there's lots of reasons why someone would do that (medical, religious, whatever). She said (in a rather preachy tone, IIRC), that she was against animal cruelty. I followed up with "What about that leather belt you wear? And your favorite footwear, which happens to be those black leather boots?" She had no answer.
Does it bother anyone that baseball players celebrate after EVERY milestone victory? Champagne celebrations should be reserved for World Series wins. It strikes me as being strange that wins after clinching a playoff spot, first round, and AL/NL CS are ALL followed by celebrations typically reserved for fraternity pledges.
I complain about this constantly. This only happens in baseball. Hockey players generally refuse to even acknowledge winning the Conference championship, let alone the first round.
@Kid Canada: What if there's so much random leftover champagne in the clubhouse, the boxes of it are a fire hazard, and it has to all be drunk to avoid a fine?
I don't think I've ever seen a worse display of collective bullpen/closer work in the postseason than I saw in the first round of these playoffs. I believe four games were loss by the team going to the ninth with the lead in the first round.
A lot people complain about the excessive celebrations
Look, I know my grandparents only celebrate their 50th anniversary so often, but a 3 hour party? And the speeches! Hey Matlock, the war has been over for like 60 years.

It's weak.

That's not weakness...that's compliance.

This must be why my Hockey-franchise/wife swapping joke tanked so badly yesterday, because normally that joke KILLS in Saskatoon.
