    Hmm, I meant to come to Deadspin, yet it seems I accidentally typed in "slate.com". Thank goodness, because where else could I find such delightful, pseudo-intellectual contrarian claptrap as "don't the tired old martial clichés seem wildly out of place in any memorial to a man who died with two bullets in his head?"


    Of course, the idea of McNair being a "warrior" on the football field has nothing to do with the circumstances of his death, and no one can legitimately find the use of that word offensive or awkward in the least. But really, its so much harder to find things to write about when you're bounded by logic.

    I think it is sick to use the word soldier or warrior to describe a football player. In America we prosecute our soldiers and warriors. Football players on the other hand get a pass on everything.
