    @Shakey: He drank Beam when he couldn't afford Jack. Of course, he did have periods when he was drinking Vodka instead of whiskey by the half-gallon.


    Amazingly enough, he did end up broke a lot from the drugs, the lifestyle and through not-that-great contracts in the early years. Some of the best stories are from when he and Axl lived in a fucking storage unit.


    It's a really good read throughout. I picked it up after hearing an interview he did on the Jim Rome show, of all places.

    @Business_Socks: The one time in my life I decided to actually do something special for Valentines Day...I got the V-Day package (champagne, rose petals, chocolate) at an upscale boutique hotel, bought dinner at an expensive seafood place and then went out for drinks at a famous bar, with a jazz band, and then got dumped a month later.

    @Pete Gaines: damn that's a lotta scratch out the door. I didn't spend nearly as much, but did get cheated on/dumped in the same time frame.

    Ok, I love Friday Night Lights, but I just wish that once or twice, they actually played football games that, you know, weren't close games. It's kind of ridiculous at this point, three seasons in. Football almost never comes odwn to the last play. I want to go have a meeting with the writers and make them watch some actual football.

    @carig: well maybe if Eric was a better coach they wouldn't find themselves in these situations all the time.


    The tight game non-sense once again lasted all the way throughout season 3, with a couple of exceptions. Its a shame there's pretty much zero chance for a season four.

    @Jerkweezy: I am keeping my fingers crossed - though I doubt there will be a season 4, what w/Jay Leno taking up all the prime time that isn't Howie Mandel...


    My (least) favorite incongruous moment was in the pilot episode, and everyone is all bundled up and cold, and you know, high school football starts in August, and in Texas, that's 800 degrees at that first game, even at night in the desert. Also, they seem to have more byes than actual high school football teams do. I want to be the show's football consultant if it goes to season 4.

    @carig: As someone who played his high school football in the mid-south, I recall all too well the heat of that first August game. Even more so I can recall the heat of two-a-days earlier in the month.


    Re: FNL, I can say this without spoiling anything - they wrap up season 3 pretty nicely. Most major storylines are settled in case its a series finale and there are plenty of openings for a season 4.

    I love the show, but I'm actually rooting against a Season 4. The actors playing Riggins and Tyra are already 30 years old, Saracen and Landry are seniors, and Street and Smash are already being written off.


    Besides the Taylors, who is there worth caring about?

    @Jerkweezy: Good to know (I guess?) that things are wrapped up. I loved Veronica Mars, and when it got cancelled and I was left hanging at the ends of season 3, just as it started to get awesome again, I was really sad.

    @carig: FNL Season 3 has plenty of awesome moments. Its the grasp on small town life that I always enjoyed and I guess I've never expected the football to be done "right" on any show or movie. But I'll miss the characters. Even if Tim and Lyla are in their third senior years.


    And with that, I think I'll go join the passed out on meds lady with the cold in the bed upstairs.
