    Didn't the supreme court uphold the rule via the NFL?


    And if the law is illegal couldn't the NBA can just change the rule to say a player must have 2 years of "development" experience and list that as professional overseas play or college ball. I don't think it's illegal for someone to say "you have to have experience in a relevant field before we'll hire you".


    Then again I am not a member of Deadspin LLP so I could certainly be wrong.

    The NBA should follow the same guide lines used by the state the team plays in for trying someone as an adult. This is the safest approach for society.

    You could try to make the case that the state law is preempted, or that the state law prevents discrimination against those 18 and older to protect against full time workers being fired and replaced with cheaper high school kids.

    @Bobby_Big_Wheel: What about the argument the NFL used from their collective bargaining agreement to bar Maurice Clarette and Michael Williams from entering the league after their freshman year? Would that work in this case?

    @Paul.B.Dodd: Only if the age limit was agreed to in the CBA, which I don't think is the case.
