This totally would have worked if Steven only followed the advice of his brother Donald Soderbergh.

especially with baseball films having virtually no appeal outside of the U.S.

that large thud you just heard was Bud Selig falling out of his casket.

The project was also doomed by Soderbergh's new working title: "The Giambi Experience."

I think the part where the A's won back-to-back World Series may have doomed the project.

Production on the film was set to start Monday in Phoenix

This cancellation is not the first Columbia to come out of left field in the Southwest.

Studio execs balked when they found out the story did not revolve around the main character's life following his escape from Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

Extra! Moneyball shelved for now. Helmer Soderbergh said to be shopping baseball flick at next comglom confab but doesn't expect much competish for nerdy narrowcast. Stay tuned to online tabmag Deadspin.com for more.

This is almost as bad of an idea as casting a porn star in a movie with no nudity.

Soderbergh's change in vision unsettled Pascal and the brakes were immediately applied to the project.

I guess Soderbergh disagrees with Pascal's Wager that the studio had nothing to gain and everything to lose.
