Now one high school student is facing criminal sexual conduct charges after his streaking across the field caused a near-riot.

Streaking is serious business at St. Francis High School in Minnesota. It's emerged as an annual homecoming tradition, but to surprise authorities, students have struck twice earlier in the season. So come homecoming, police were ready. Would anyone be daring enough to taunt the bull a third time?

Obviously, yes. And he had the will of the student body on his side:

It was on the edge of being out of control," said Police Chief Jeff Harapat. "More than 500 kids surrounded the two officers, swearing, throwing pop bottles and tennis shoes. ... I guess they were upset that one of their fellow students was being arrested."

As if charging a 17-year-old with a sex crime isn't enough, Chief Harapat has also mastered the bizarre analogy:

At what level of a crime does that stop? For example, if you're at McDonald's and having a Happy Meal with your kids and some adult male gets kicked out because he isn't wearing a shirt. And he obviously isn't right in the head and he goes outside, pulls his pants down and pushes his butt up against the glass while you're eating. ... Now tell me what the difference is when we fill a stadium with parents, minor children, and some very small children and we have naked people running across the field," he said.

Or, say, exposing yourself in a Costco?

<![CDATA[And Now Some Leftover St. Patrick's Day Rugby Coverage]]> We can learn a great deal from Britain's strict females-only streaking policy. We've covered the naughty bits in the photo, but the video below is slightly more revealing. Let's play some rugby!

Video possibly NSFW.

It happened at Madejski Stadium in Reading, England, home of the London Irish of the Guinness Premiership rugby league. My favorite part is how the guy sitting next to her doesn't seem to notice that a woman is stripping until she's done and about to run onto the field.

<![CDATA[Cheerleaders Show School Spirit Through Streaking]]> Please keep the following two things in mind before commenting on this post. 1) These are high school girls and 2) They're from Canada. That's not an excuse or an explanation for why they stripped down to their panties, duct taped their boobs, and streaked across a football field in the middle of a game, but it's just something to keep in mind. The real reason they did it is much simpler to understand—they're the cheerleading squad.

Apparently, this has become a bit of a tradition for the final home game at South Delta Secondary School in Delta, British Columbia. The girls somehow think that running into the opponent's huddle with cans of silly string and without their decency will distract and confuse the players, leading their own team to victory. (It worked, btw.) But some folks are mighty P.O.ed...

[Principal Ted] Johnson said he warned students last month not to streak at this year's final game of the season but was, obviously, ignored. Many parents and children left the game in disgust after the prank, he said.

"Our position is one that we don't celebrate this. We don't find it funny," he said.

You're darn tootin'! In fact, he's so upset that he told the cheerleaders in no uncertain terms that he will definitely suspend them ... next time. This one's gonna slide, but no streaking for at least a good month or so. Tough, but fair.

<![CDATA[Let's See Dee Mirich Write A Poem About THIS]]> I've lived my entire adult life by one simple rule: Never go streaking at the horse races. The comparisons are not flattering, let me tell you.

Here's one unfortunate man who did not heed my advice, however. Hilarious, yet also sad. Link to the video is in this story.

<![CDATA[MLS Exhibition Livened Up By Naked Man]]>
Sorry, folks: We will never, ever get tired of streakers.

This is from last night's exhibition match between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps. Honestly, if we were a security guard, you couldn't pay us enough to tackle that guy.

We know, we know: Running on the field is dangerous and reckless. We got it. It's still awesome.

<![CDATA[How To Make Golf More Fun]]> If you know anything about me, then you know that I have traditionally refused to do posts about streakers ... unless there is a humorous slogan written above their butt. This is a pretty good one (we also would have accepted "Captain's Choice"), and he also earns points for covering his genitals with a toy squirrel. Mark Jackson, who streaked last year's U.S. Open (although this photo was taken at the 1995 British Open), recently avoided a court order that would have banned him from sporting events.

So Jackson is free to streak again, although I would avoid Pittsburgh during football season. You wouldn't want to see him accidentally back into Steely McBeam ...

<![CDATA[Who's Sorry Now? Naked Hi-Jinx Edition]]> Simply put, we can think of no more embarrassing yet hilarious opening line to a letter than this:

"Dear Editor: I would like to apologize for streaking during the homecoming basketball game (Feb. 2)."

You see, it's one thing to get busted for streaking. It's quite another to be sentenced to write an apology letter in the freakin' town newspaper for it, and then going ahead and writing it. That letter is going to follow you forever, son. We would have just done the time in solitary. Well, it's too late now. We won't reprint the entire thing, instead just concentrating on the highlights.

"I would also like to apologize to the homecoming attendants, specifically Heather Selman, Samantha Casey and the new homecoming queen, Jovonna Clark."
"I would like to ask the community and school district to forgive me and give me a second chance at becoming a positive person toward our society."
"I'd like to apologize to Coach Jones and the basketball team who have worked countless hours preparing for their games."
"There are two questions that I get frequently asked, and those are: "Why did you do it?" and "Was it worth it?" To answer these questions, I did it because I thought it would be a funny little school prank that people would get a good laugh about."

And now to move on to the week's other delicious regret.

• "Sorry I attacked your kid with a flying suplex." — deranged youth wrestling parent.

• "Sorry we cheated by using everything but rocket fuel ... oh wait, we did that too." — Michael Waltrip NASCAR crew.

• "Sorry for all the stupid football rules. We were just kidding." — NCAA

• "Sorry, everyone." — Dreamworks Pictures.

<![CDATA[Look, Naked British People!]]> Just to be crude, and because we can't imagine you can look at Tiger Woods that much longer, we decided to toss out a little bon mot for you: A top 10 list of female streakers at British sporting events. (Link NSFW)

We find it interesting that this never happens at American sporting events, and we're not sure it's just our bent toward puritanism. These days, anyone even thinking about running on the field is psychologically profiled — thanks to the chips They implanted in our brains at birth — and, if they happen to be at Yankee Stadium, shot on sight.

This, of course, got us thinking about Morganna. She's retired now — which is probably for the best, considering she's 52 years old — and lives, inevitably, in Columbus, Ohio.
