a boy from a poor family in New Orleans who starts controlling the outcome of NFL games through a refurbished Xbox

Payton stole this from Matt Millen. The only difference is Millen swears it's the real reason for the failure of the Detroit Lions.

If he plays anything like the way I do, fake punting is going to go up roughly 800%.

Funny, I'm also writing a screenplay about a boy named Tim who controls the outcome of NBA games using nothing more than a whistle and directives from the Commissioner's office.

This is pretty reminiscent of my movie idea. The plot consisted of the Cowboys practice bubble getting swept up in a magical thunderstorm and carried off to Narnia. Wacky hijinx ensue. It was shelved when our shooting location was deflated in a non-magical thunderstorm.

He wrote the movie originally as "Tecmo Kid" but realized it was just 3 hours of Bo Jackson running in circles around people.
