Using Dash's logic, I guess Conference USA was the second best conference in 2007-2008 and would've been the best if Memphis could shoot fouls. One team doesn't make a conference. Those years, Miami dominated college football didn't mean that Big East Football was the best. In fact, most years it was awful.

In all the arguments I read regarding the Big Ten, no one ever questioned Michigan State's credentials. It was whether the conference was all that deep and deserved more than 6 teams in the tournament and the tournament prove they didn't as 4 of them lost in the first round. Everyone regarded Michigan St. as a quality team, the best in the Big Ten, and they proved it by winning the conference by four games, and one of the 6-8 teams that could win this thing.

Five teams in the Sweet 16, Four in the Elite 8, and Two in the Final 4 > Two teams in the Sweet 16, One in the Elite 8, One in the Final 4 and One in the Championship game.

Congrats to MSU for a great season and a hell of a run through the tourney, but the only sensible way to gauge conferences is top to bottom, and the Big East is still the best (just not by as wide of a margin as some would have you believe).
