In reply to The Analysis The NBA Wants You To Read
Anyone see the 60 Minutes piece on this chump? Forget the betting, it made it seem that NBA referees, in general, are the most biased, uncaring, and petty officials in professional sports. Is that really the case?

I can't read TrueHoop without being aggravated with how Henry Abbott stiffed our table in contributing to the tip during a dinner at the NBA Finals in 2007.

Maybe he owed Donaghy something to cover.

The TrueHoopheads have...done the yeoman's work of checking some of his claims against box scores...

Unfortunately, that last crate of apples only got 7.3.

The Analysis The NBA Wants You To Read

"The subsequent use of this variable-adjusted co-efficient demonstrates clearly and beyond doubt that individuals who pay up to $150 dollars to watch Eric Gordon face off against Chris Duhon on a weeknight in January are 5x less likely to die of dysentary than those who don't/"

Also breaking down under scrutiny are Donaghy's claims of having edited the final scene of "Hoosiers."

At the heart of the book is a gripping and sad first-hand account of a gambling addiction tearing apart a family, a career and a reputation.

Didn't the NBA get suspicious when they noticed Donaghy refereeing games with a handheld pai gow player attached to his belt?

A First-Person Account of the Scandal that Rocked the NBA

I called this completely bogus 3 second violation on Rashad McCants, and sure enough, over on the bench, Madsen, Jaric and Doleac are making devil horns and headbanging with their tongues out. Of course, Foye is just destroying it on air guitar by the 3 point line. Crazy.

This Donaghy situation is a reminder of why people who hold a posistion of trust need to have a patch or badge on their chest- so if they do betray the integrity of their work, it can be ripped off in dramatic fashion.
