Here comes the roly-poly man, he's singing songs of love.
Roly poly, roly poly, roly poly, he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy he sang.
Hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy, hurdy gurdy he sang.
Hey guys! Guys! Where'd you go!? Come back! I'll play something else! I'll play Freebird! Hey! HEY! GET BACK HERE!

Well in that case I'm out of questions. So that is a real church and not one of those 4 million dollars monstrosities correct?

Anyways, nearly every "Fail" response gets the offender either banned or de-starred (I think this is how UkraineNotWeak lost his star.) Here's the kicker, every single de-star/axing is a comment on a girls looks, or in someway "objectifying women" as teh kids are calling it these days. (I hardly think UNW saying he wanted to 69 with EA is really de-star worthy, but whatever right?)
Personally I think Hit by Pitch is the commenting ninja. I don't even have a problem with that policy in and of itself, as a person who has a wife with self-image problems I can understand why making a comment calling a pretty attractive girl a butterface is offensive and not altogether funny.
But regardless that's been a part of the DS culture for a long time now. A simple "we think that the constant barrage of jokes about the way a woman looks is off-putting to some readers, and we get a lot of e-mailers complaining about the constant objectification of women in the comments, so please knock it off. Besides they aren't funny either" would have gone a long ways towards at least giving people fair warning, instead of just an awfully unfunny FAILBOT meme that's pretty insulting and condescending and really detracts from the site, IMO

That said, I actually get a bit of a perverse thrill out of the immediacy and uncertainty of the whole thing. That's easy for me to say, I suppose, seeing as how thus far I've stayed on the good side of the fence.
There have been times where I looked at who was what in this community and wondered, "Why?". It sucks that they had to start fresh like this, and it's not fair, and some live bodies have been carried off with the corpses. Does cutting off live flesh in order to get rid of a lot of dead weight suck? Yeah, it does.
I guess you could say I've been waiting for this to happen, but not to this extreme. The de-starrings are fine. This is just a guess, but it seemed that when I arrived, the star system rewarded attributes other than humor. There were a ton of people that I would never see funny comments from, or even any comments at all, bearing stars. That's not to say they didn't deserve their stars as a representation of how much they meant to this community. What I'm saying is now, by the grace of whomever, there has been a paradigm shift, and simply DUAN'ing and making friends after shop closes down isn't going to cut the mustard.
The bannings, on the other hand, seem very, very harsh. I'm not terribly worried, but I don't know if that's because of my own arrogance or naivete.
There's some new rules, and it really sucks that some (from what I know second and thirdhand) really cool people have been alienated. Myself? I haven't really made too many friends in DUAN, I haven't met anyone that's ever posted on here, and I'm not part of the old guard, so I'd be lying if I said I was heartbroken about the changes.
This is their house. We're all just guests. We're free to leave anytime we want. The internet is like the universe: Neverending. If you feel the need to march on, march on, and don't come back if you feel you've been slighted. I wouldn't be above doing that. If you want to stay in contact with the friends you've made on here, I see no reason why that couldn't happen.
Now, UkraineNotWeak, Business_Socks, and many others: If I were the comments Jesus, you would still have your stars, but I'm not, so I don't know what to tell you.
C'est la vie, and it's rough, but whatcha gonna do about it?

I watched him from the mid 80's until his retirement. He was the Charles M. Shultz of television. Yeah, like Shultz' comic strip, he was an institution, and everyone read/watched it. But did anyone ever actually find it all that funny?
Also, the guy always had a regular "stand in." Before Leno, it was Joan Rivers. Whether or not you liked Jay Lenoyou have to admit that Leno's work ethic blew away Carson's.

Maybe you should go back and catch some of things he did during the first 25 years he hosted the show as oppose to the last 5.

The Tea Time Movie skits he use to do, mostly in the 70s, as Art Fern with the late Carol Wayne were very funny and full of all kinds of sexual innuendo for the time.
