Forrest Griffin dominated the first two rounds of the light heavyweight bout last night in Vegas, but Rashad Evans finally got Griffin to the ground in the third and pounded Griffin into submission, taking the light heavyweight belt and "most successful The Ultimate Fighter contestant" title in the waning days of 2008. This loosens up the light heavyweight division more than Griffin's guard in the third, making any number of fight combinations possible in 2009.

One of those potential opponents is Quinton Jackson, who showed Wanderlei Silva Mr. Happy Sleepy Time Fist in the first round. Jackson's British training over and the fight almost anticlimatic, Quinton now turns to his auto-based legal problems and personally-questioned mental acuity.

In the interim heavyweight division, interim heavyweight Frank Mir TKOed Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in the second round, allowing the final legal resolution between the interim heavyweight and heavyweight divisions next year as Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will meet in the Next Big Fight. (Note: there may not be an interim heavyweight division. Then again, we're not sure Brock Lesnar is real, either. No one can be that big and quick; he's got to be CGI.)

<![CDATA[UFC 92 Brings Bulk Harder Than Post-Christmas Candy Leftovers]]> UFC 92 has more than its fair share of heavy-hitting heavyweight bouts tonight, including former stars, current stars, and those wishing to switch stations between the two.

Las Vegas will host a light heavyweight title bout, an interim heavyweight title bout (what, so they don't have to put the real belt on the 2008 budget?), and a light heavyweight bout that could have been a title bout if it wasn't for a vacancy in the mental department for one of the fighters.

First, Wanderlei Silva swings his Axe Murderer persona at Quinton Jackson. UFC is actually allowing him to bring the axe on the mat to counteract the Ford F-150 Quinton will bring into the octagon.

Next, Antonio Nogueira and Frank Mir will roll around on the ground until they get the funk as these two once-were and never-beens get their shot at the interim heavyweight crown. (They had to switch from a belt so Frank Mir could wear the title in the photos.) (We kid, Frank; please don't hurt us.)

Finally, the winners of the first two seasons of The Ultimate Fighter will pound on each other in the main event as Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans meet for all the light heavyweight marbles. Griffin is much larger than Evans, but Evans knocked out Chuck Liddell. Anyone that declares with certainty that they know how this one's gonna end is trying to sell you something. Like this pay-per-view, let's say.

This is your place to get your DUAN on, as always. There won't be a liveblog of tonight's deliciously violent events, so we will recommend Cage Fighter's party, as usual. Discussions of attempts to get to second base with the secretarial pool should stay here, Draper.
