My Pitt Panthers, led by the one and only Levance Fields, is matched up against a tough Michigan State team and I will not be live blogging for fear of getting way too emotional. I've long been a Spartan hater and I love Pitt like none other, just so you know where I'm coming from.

Like many others (unfortunately) I picked Pitt to win this one on their way to a Final Four date with UCLA (I pray). Those same Bruins will be in action against the Arkansas Razorbacks shortly. Enjoy the games, and please follow along in the comments. Barring something unforeseen (like DeJuan Blair eating a small child or UCLA losing) I am bidding you adieu for the evening.

<![CDATA[ One Series Is Alive ... Can We Make It Two? ]]> VarejaoAndBigZ.jpgAs close as this series has been so far, we're just one Pistons victory away from it being totally lopsided. They've been so close on the road, most people believe the Cavs will be able to take at least a game at home. Except for Rasheed Wallace, who would lead you to believe that if the Pistons try, the Pistons win.

Asked after Game 2 what the Pistons did to crush the Cavs in the 3rd quarter, Rasheed said this:

Just played a little bit harder. That first half we played somewhat hard, but that second half, the first five, six minutes in that third quarter we came out and had to play hard. They were up 12. We couldn't let that get any higher. We couldn't let that move to 18 or 20 and so on. It's like, hey, we've got to go out there the first five minutes, take what they give us and just be aggressive.

So, depending on how much effort the Pistons feel like giving, after tonight, the series will be as close as it can possibly be, or a 3-0 formality. And in the links below, a bunch of LeBron stuff ... none of which has anything to do with his on-court play.

<![CDATA[ Hopefully, Tim Duncan Suffers From Cyanophobia ]]> trueblueshirt.jpgA fear of the color blue is what we're counting on to tighten this series up. The attire of the fans in Salt Lake City is the focus of the AP article previewing Game Three of the Spurs/Jazz series. Everyone in Energy Solutions arena will be decked out tonight in "True Blue" shirts that will, I don't know ... intimidate the Spurs? A noisy light-blue background is what we're counting on to make this series interesting? Awesome.

The Spurs lead the series 2-0 and the first two games haven't left a lot of room for intrigue. Tim Duncan's good, Tony Parker's good, and Manu Ginobili's good ... and the Jazz are good, too, but not quite as good as the Spurs. And that's really all there's been to it thus far.

Also happening tonight: UFC 71, featuring Chuck Liddell vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. I don't know a lot about this Ultimate Fighting business, but I have seen a hell of a lot of Chuck Liddell this week. And I did enjoy this feature on Page 2.

<![CDATA[ Poor Mario Got Strung Out On Mushrooms ]]>

So a rockin' sports Saturday morphed into a pretty lazy sports Sunday that was redeemed only recently by an excellent Spurs/Suns game that featured over 215 points and several gallons of Steve Nash's blood. The Spurs did hang on to take Game One.

In case you missed tonight's line-up in "To Watch Tonight," it's a nearly barren Sunday sports evening. Thank goodness for people who make YouTube videos about Mario getting strung out on mushrooms and mistreating his princess.

<![CDATA[ Floyd Mayweather Jr. Is An Ass Doc ]]> The Fight After the Fight

While we're all still basking in the glow of that one horse's victory, we've NBA playoffs, including a Game 7, and then Game 1 between arguably the East's two best teams. In addition, there's a Nextel Cup race, NHL playoff action, and of course, De La Hoya vs. Mayweather. Punching each other in the face for an hour is one thing, but a Joy Behar sex tape? Come on, let's keep this civil.

All told, it should make for a pretty lively Up! All Night thread. Have fun with it, ladies and gentlemen. Be safe out there.
