    Kobe has the best selling jersey in the NBA. I don't think racism is a huge issue he suffers from.

    Agreed on the rape thing. However, let's not discount the fact that Tyson served prison time for rape and Kobe was put on trial...a trial that was brought to an abrupt end when (IIRC) a settlement was reached and the accuser decided not to testify.


    Also, there was not photographic proof of Tyson or Kobe breaking the law...unfortunately for Phelps there are pictures of his stupidity. Like it or not it's easier to ignore things you've only heard about, not seen with your own eyes.


    Phelps defenders also seem to forget that this is his second serious fuckup. DUI while underage just a few years ago...which he swore up and down he'd learn from. I guess not.
