"It was also absolutely expected that something was going to happen with the coach....Well, that same year they won the Super Bowl....This is a long, long journey." [DMN]

<![CDATA[Emmitt Smith Says Romo And Phillips Have To Stop Being Polite, Start Being Real]]> Articulately-challenged running back Emmitt Smith is frustrated with his former team, and he's blaming Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and Wade Phillips for the Lombardi trophy drought in Big D, urging them to yell at more people.

Smith told Sirius' NFL radio that he's yet to see the smiley Romo "snatch somebody up" for not doing their job on the football field, which means, I assume, that he's never seen him be a leader nor kidnap a small child in a shopping mall.

And although Romo vowed to become more Col. Jessup this year, Smith isn't buying it.

So when ... you say things are going to change, and you've never been that dominant personality or in that leadership position then, as a player, you lose me," Smith said. "... I'm sitting there saying, 'OK, now you're going to become a leader?' What happened [in previous playoff seasons] when we got knocked out both times?

"Now all of a sudden, you're going to change? And our talent level is less than it was two years ago [when the Cowboys made the playoffs as the NFC's No. 1 seed, only to lose to the Giants]. How much better can we be?"

Prop bettors take note of the Cowboys 15/1 odds to win the Super Bowl this year because remember what happened when Tiki Barber decided to publicly criticize the quarterback and former coach of his former team.

<![CDATA[The Lonesome Tony Romo]]>
Tony Romo is taking all the heat today — it's gonna get to the point that he's going to want to stop wanting to even make the playoffs — but the Cowboys' collapse yesterday was a true team effort. Despite the rosy denials of Cowboys boosters, this was a devastating loss in every possible way. (Look how it made T.O. cry!) Heck, the loss so disoriented coach Wade Phillips that he lost his car keys. That has to be humiliating. And that final "drive" by the Cowboys, in a way, was far more gruesome an indictment of Tony Romo than that botched snap ever was.

Meanwhile, Eli Manning is either looking like a legitimate starting quarterback ... or setting the stage for the most epic collapse of all in Green Bay next week. (Or both.) Either way ... next Sunday's NFC championship game is gonna look a lot prettier on TV now than we all thought it was going to.

But seriously, though: If Romo every makes a playoff game again, we hope it's in a low pressure spot, so that he does not explode into a plume of smoke.

<![CDATA[Wade Phillips' Daughter Belly Dances And Reads Sports Blogs]]> You might remember, back in February, when MJD told you about Cowboys coach Wade Phillips' most attractive daughter. Well, now she's got an acting career. It seems to be going well.

Turns out, she's that Charlie Wilson's War. We haven't seen it yet. She plays a belly dancer.

I had done minimal belly dancing prior to this. But I am a dancer - I've danced my whole life - I am pretty adept at learning different kinds of movement. ... It was all pretty natural to me - I didn't feel like it was a stretch for me to do that style of dance.

How about those Cowboys?

I watch every game! I mean, I watch every game, I read sports blogs, I go on dallascowboys.com all the time. I grew up with football. It becomes important when it's not just a livelihood, but when your life depends on it - whether you're going to move to a different city, or if you're gonna get fired. ... I'm really invested.

That's right, fellers; she reads sports blogs. Step right up.

<![CDATA[Wade Phillips Made a Hot Daughter]]> The Cowboys' hiring of Wade Phillips as their new head coach drew an underwhelming response from the general public. Reactions ranged from yawns to "What the?!" to "At least it's not Norv Turner." There was a distinct lack of enthusiasm or glee.

And that's why Wade Phillips should've brought his daughter to the press conference. Meet Tracy Phillips, actress, dancer, Bum's granddaughter, and Wade's daughter.

Her IMDB page shows that she's starred in well-known films such as "Ides of March," "42K," the yet-to-be-released "Dark Streets" and she was an uncredited dancer in "Clerks II." She's danced in a number of music videos, for people like No Doubt, the Goo Goo Dolls, Ricky Martin and Will Smith. She will also be starring in wide array of erotic fantasies had by me.

It brings to mind Talladega Nights, when Ricky Bobby said to Chip, "All you ever done was make a hot daughter. That's it!" NFC East opponents should play that clip on their Jumbotrons.
