Although I had a little something to do with the Montana bashing (thanks for the "investigative journalist" props!) I was concerned more with the blaming of the kids than anything else. In an effort to show Montana's less obvious side here is an article about how he uses a specially designed wine to donate to charity. http://www.californiawineandfood.com/wine/joe-montana.htm<... Also, I found an actual DONATION from Montana (a 3L of the wine, commemorative glasses, and a signed helmet and jersey) to benefit his kid's school last year. I agree we shouldn't be talking about the kids, but he did bring them into this, which is what angered me in the first place. This paints a slightly better picture of the guy that slighted the NFL. And by the way I was not pressured by Joe's "wonderful" PR team to do this.

He would have to pay the NFL for making money off items with the word "Superbowl" on them. He probably would sign anything with "The Big Game MVP" on them. No wonder the guy's got high blood pressure.

Let's take it easy on Super Joe. He's not the only ex-athlete looking for money around every corner, plus that parade they put together was brutal anyways. If he's classless for wanting more money, what's so great about walking out and waving. Lets be honest, to be in a class with the likes of Dexter Jackson and "heisman" Howard isn't really something to tell your kids about.

"Montana will not sign Super Bowl MVP items" Very interesting. I don't really know what the explanation is. I assume it's either that a) he demands a bajillion dollars to sign anything that refers to a Super Bowl MVP (rather than a "paltry" $169) or b) For some inexplicable reason, Joe has some deep rooted shame or embarrassment in the fact that he won three Super Bowl MVP's. He won't show up to the Super Bowl and be recognized. He won't even sign an object that refers to his Super Bowl MVP's. It's like his kryptonite or something.
