Ayala, Healthcliff Slocumb, Bad Norm Charlton, the Legendary Mike Schooler... those were fun days. I do have to mention the best Mariner commercial ever -and if someone could find this online, I'd be eternally grateful- was the Joey Cora finger puppet. It was Joey (he of the .277-.348-.369 lifetime line) watching a puppet of Roger Clemens panic over facing him. It was the funniest baseball-related thing I've ever seen.

Although you have to admit that the commercials for the new Mets network (SNY), featuring the guy with a TV for a head, are pretty good too. Two examples, but there are several in the series: - Asian masseuse gives the guy a chest massage because she wants to watch Mets highlights on his face, the TV, while he complains. - Cab driver locks him into the cab so drive can watch the game in the rear-view mirror

The M's don't do a whole lot well on the field anymore, but they totally lead the league in commercials.
