@Clare: On Matsui's double, he realized he was not going to catch it as he quickly approached the high left-center wall. He peeled off his sprint to the wall at the warning track and showed good lateral movement to move to the spot where the ball would carom before it even came off the wall.

Then, as he caught the ball, he had already shifted his body weight and opened up his chest so he could quickly release the ball if he had to make a throw towards third.

Really, it was an impressive little bit of smart *and* athletic fielding that went mostly unnoticed.

I've got a quick question.

Why do all the jocks at ESPN mispronounce the word
'mature'?

They pronounce it like the word 'manure'. As in, horse poop. Do they think they're being clever?

Why this bothers me, I don't know. But it's almost as bad as that jock-word 'physicality' and phrase 'stick-toitiveness'.
