UConn lost to Virginia and Rutgers lost to Maryland. Of course Alabama lost to FSU, so I guess the Big East is the new SEC in that SOME of the top teams (by record only) are losing to middle of the road ACC teams. I look forward to seeing South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida continue this trend.

@xhack: Are you kidding? VT was blitzing and bringing pressure from all different directions through the entire game. Yes, the front 4 was doing very well but they were tired at the end. That makes it even more inexplicable as to why they decided to rush three and drop 8 for the last two minutes and give BC all night to get someone open.

I would rather go down with the defense that was working all night.

@Da_Mang: Did you watch the game? VT was getting pressure on Ryan without rushing more than 4 guys routinely. They didn't really change their scheme all that much in the last 2 drives (although you can argue they should've). I think their D Line just plain ran out of gas. Ryan's not a fast guy but he was able to escape any pocket pressure and buy time to throw more than once.

@xhack: Fair point, I just think that the way ASU handled the early deficit and then absolutely smacked Cal was a ton more impressive than BC getting pushed around--badly--for 58 minutes and then turning into the New England Patriots for two minutes.

I think my biggest point is that on no level was Kansas' win impressive.

Perhaps Shanoff's first girlfriend dumped him during the '97 Rose Bowl, explaining his dual hatred for ASU and OSU.
