@finite_elephant: I was just talking about this today. About 3 months ago and prior, the Big 10 looked pretty attractive to MU. But now...

Not that we're going to be "kicking around the Big XII", but I do think that when we win this National Championship ;) MU will be one of the major players with clout in the conference... like Nebraska used to be, and maybe will again... and like OU and Texas are now. It won't be so easy for UT and OU to rule the Big Texas Conference anymore with North teams winning National Championships.

Now, the Big 10 would just seem like a lateral move. Stepping into another 12 school football conference whose credibility is annually doubted, and still have to play a conf. championship game. PLUS (and possibly most importantly) we'd lose the meaningful rivalries with ku, NU, CU, etc from the Big 8 days.

I'm seriously wondering if OSU not getting into the national championship game will cause the Big Ten's expansion effort to once again grind into action. The problem is that two of the candidates they've talked to in the past are definitely out of the market. Mizzou looks like a conference winner at long last and is probably looking forward to kicking around the rest of the Big XII for a while, so they won't go. ND would be looking at the nightmare of being scheduled as Indiana's Homecoming Patsy, so they'll remain "academically incompatable."

So that leaves...Rutgers? Maybe the Big Ten should pass the hat and build U. of Chicago a football stadium.

@xhack: I don't think Tyrod is always looking to run. Honestly the only edge Glennon has on him is in game experience. Athletically Tyrod is better and I believe he can sling the ball around just as well. It is actually pretty analogous to the reasons why Meyer played Leak as the starter and brought Tebow in when he had to.

BC did look off on the passing game. Hopefully for you guys they get that all squared away. I think Tech is going to be pretty fired up after the Coach Jaggs Monster Mash on the sideline after Ryan scored the 2nd TD.

We'll see what happens though...

VA Tech: If you want the storybook ending.
BUT: Come on, they're from the freaking ACC.

@cgb: Having to deal with Tyrod and Glennon is annoying. Hopefully they prepped enough for both QBs last time that it's still not far from their mind. TT's legs may not be as useful against BC's run d as you may hope (does he look to pass often? Or is he a lock to run pretty quickly?).

Again, I think BC gets more protection around Ryan and the recievers hold on to the ball better. That wasn't the offense's best game you got last time.

@xhack: That is exactly the point I am making. I should have said *defensively* we had them on the ropes. The defense held the Eagles scoreless for 54 minutes. Even with Hall during that time they couldn't have played better. Judging by the last 4 weeks, if we had Tyrod playing in that game we would have been able to put the game out of reach for BC.

Obviously I'de rather have Hall back in the lineup for the rematch, but Tyrod getting us points makes more of a difference towards our success the second time around.

@cgb: VT wasn't blowing the doors off of BC that whole game. They were winning, yes, but BC's D held them to only 3 points and the ACC officials to 7.

Hall will be a big plus for you guys too. From the looks of our last few games, Logan has learned to keep a TE or RB back to block. With a second or two more time and a dry football, I don't think Ryan will have as bad a first 56 minutes this game as he did last time.

I'm still nervous. I'm just suprised that no Tech fan seems to be.

I thought that this would be the week LSU would be the healthiest and would silence doubters by blasting Dmac and Nutt. I was definitely wrong.

As for Tech I think missing Hall was big, but not the reason why we lost. We had BC on the ropes for 56 minutes and we should have stepped on their throat while we could have. Now that Glennon and Tyrod are putting up points we should be able to take advantage of our defensive stops and score more.
