However, its tone and expected response (nobody will talk) is symptomatic of the longstanding, irrational antagonism between the union and MLB. Maybe if you all trying working toward a solution rather than maintaining reasonable but non-productive legal positions, baseball won't get dragged through the mud all the time.

That memo looks to me like sound advice (from a union looking out for its members' best interest) to talk with an attorney before they go exposing themselves to possible criminal liability.
