However, I then turned on the news and saw Masshole after Masshole being interviewed and whine and complain because they wanted another championship, and walked into work this morning to forwarded emails referring to Eli Manning as a "pickle smoker." It was at this moment that I thought "ya know what, it sucks that the Pats lost, but it was a ridiculously good game, and these mouth-breathers honestly don't deserve such good fortune anyways." That's combined with the fact that (as much as Pats fans don't want to admit it), it's kinda hard rooting for a team with guys like Randy Moss and Rodney Harrison, and Belichick seems like the type of guy that would be a total prick in person.

The better team won, they took advantage of the breaks (like the Pats did against the Rams a few years back), and I really have no reason to complain, especially given Boston's string of good fortune lately. Great game, congrats to the Giants and their fans, and hopefully we'll get 'em next year.

on another note, can we lay off the ridiculous praise of eli manning? i would not call his 4th quarter performance amazing or anything even remotely approaching that. sure, he evaded that sack (partly because everyone on the defensive line was so convinced he was sacked they seemed to stop trying), and that was a hell of a play, but 90% of it was the catch. but shit man, he looked like the same old eli to me... how many times did he put way too much air under it and nearly get picked off? at least twice on that drive. and that touchdown? well, fox pretty much summed that one up when they showed footage of him and burress in practice when he put it perfectly in the corner of the endzone. instead he missed the corner by about five yards and if plaxico hadn't crossed up his defender, well, it woulda just been another time that eli missed his spot.
