So as long as the primary purpose is knocking off a classic horror flick or video game to make a quick buck, the very occasional byproduct of which is terror and/or horror, you're all right. Sounds like pretty much every American horror movie made in the last five years is safe, along with the entire oeuvre of Uwe Boll.
