Not to be hugely anal retentive about the Spitzer-jack discussion here... But, the CTR limit is less than $10,000 (I think it might be $5,000), and the SAR is filed whennever someone notices something strange, but I doubt that's how they got Spitzer.

When they busted the hooker, or the ring, they found the cell numbers and subpoenad the phone company, which provided a list of names. When they noticed The Governor (as in, "Holy Sh!t, Joe. Spitzer last year had wanted to wire transfer more than $10,000 from his branch to what turned out to be the front for the prostitution ring, QAT Consulting Group, which also uses a number of other names, in New Jersey, the sources said.

But Spitzer had the money broken down into several smaller amounts of less than $10,000 each, apparently to avoid federal regulations requiring the reporting of the transfer of $10,000 or more, the sources said. The regulations are aim to help spot possible illegal business activities, such as fraud or drug deals.

Apparently, having second thoughts about even sending the total amount in this manner, Spitzer then asked that the bank take his name off the wires, the sources said.

I would like to recommend going with Priceline at a high star level for your Chicago stay - I've used it about five times for stays there and it's never done me wrong

@Yostal: Are you going to drive in and check in first, then take the El down to Bridgeport? Most of the hotels in the Loop, River North, and Gold Coast are a not-too-far walk to the Red Line for easy access to the ballpark.
