The committee gave Davidson games in Raleigh because they probably shouldn't have been a 10 seed in the first place. When you win 23 straight, and battle teams such as UCLA, UNC, and Duke (and give them all hell), you probably should get a single digit seed.

I think giving Davidson games in NC was making up for, or at least balancing out the fact that they were screwed on seeding.

@UkraineNotWeak: I was living in Vermont when this upset happened. Look, we barely have 600,000 people who live here, let alone a major sports team. The school's hockey team was still recovering from a hazing incident that forced a cancellation of the entire season. And the basketball team had never made the tournament before 2003, so for those three years Vermont basketball meant a lot to the state, especially since the team's done nothing since. So I can't blame Brennan for mentioning it all the time.

If Kentucky had made a Final Four run from the #11, it would have been improbable, but I doubt many fans would have been queueing up to adopt the gritty, underlooked Wildcats as their team of choice.

BTW Tom, your team, for the most part, played like sh## that night. Syracuse just happen to play one of their worse games of the decade that night. A real good team would've beaten them by 25-30 that night.
