French fitness blogger and Instagram user Rebecca Burger died Sunday after a pressurized whipped cream canister exploded and struck her in the chest, according to a statement from her family.

Burgerā€™s family also shared a photo of the device that killed her:

Ardā€™time, the manufacturer of the canister, put out a press release acknowledging the incident and urging consumers to comply with a 2013 recall effort. A French consumer magazine reported that several have exploded and knocked out peopleā€™s teeth, broken bones in usersā€™ heads and chests, and caused other injuries. However, Burger is supposedly the first person who has actually died as a result of exploding canisters.

French authorities are investigating the accident and Burgerā€™s family also reportedly plans to sue.
