We get a massive amount of tips in our inbox each week. Some are pretty interesting, but don't get published for one reason or another. (NSFW)
It's usually because they're just so absurd or really lack even the most tenuous of news angles to give them the go-ahead. Other times it's because they're just absolute horseshit. But every Friday until we get sick of running them, we'll present to you some of these not-so-shiny gems. All items should be treated as [Sic'd]. Enjoy...
Was He Wearing A Hoodie?
So my boss, who grew up in Annapolis, is 56 or so. I asked her if she watched the game last night, and she told me no because she wasn't a football fan. But she did watch last year because the Patriots played and she wanted to see Bill Belichick, with whom she grew up. In fact, she said, she attended his (12th or 13th) birthday party, played Spin the Bottle with him and met him in the closet for Seven Minutes in Heaven. They stood in the closet for about 6:55 just staring at each other (she demonstrated his look; it's the Belichick face). She did not say if they kissed.
She also said Bill was a big bully back in grade school, just as he is now. She said he had lousy nicknames for everyone, and everyone called him "Billy Bellyache" (looks like that name goes further back than his Browns days). So she was a little happy when the Pats lost last year, and rolled her eyes when he stormed off the field after the Bowl. "Same old Bill," she said.
I'd trust my boss on this one.
Actually, Didn't Catch That At All
Is anyone else picking up on the sexual tension between Nadal and Fed on the front page of espn.com? Nadal looks like he wants to make out with him.
Okay, I Don't Know Which Person He Is
Since my man Iman just hit the shot of his life... I figure I'd show you the real Iman Shumpert
They're Just Happy To Be There
Here in Phoenix, station kupd had a lively discussion about whether or
not the city should throw a PARADE for the Cardinals. Only in this
city would second place be deemed worthy of a parade. I need to get
out of here. I feel my iq decrease as each day passes.
You're An Idiot
As you know, Peyton and Eli Manning are Pro Bowl bound this week as they head to Hawaii to represent the AFC and NFC, respectively, marking the first time the quarterback-playing brothers have been voted into the same game.
While they may be competing head-to-head in Hawaii, they've been busy competing together in their second "sport," the Oreo Double Stuf Racing League (www.DSRL.com). In fact, last month they took on Venus and Serena Williams in the Ultimate Sibling Rivalry – a clash of two titan sibling teams seeking second "sport" domination.
Check out the lick-off and what the brothers had to say about it here:
Okay, Okay, Okay — Here
I am a long-time reader of Deadspin, and I author a small Phillies blog. I have posted two still-frame pictures of Warner's final "fumble" and I have proven through logic and geometry that he is passing the ball before he is hit by the PItt defender. Here is the link:
Please check this out, it's a small post, but the basic gist of it is Warner moves the ball UP from the first picture to the second picture, and its impossible to move the ball up, in his position, without going forward as well.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
I slightly edited the post to which I linked in my email yesterday. I have two pictures proving Warner was passing the ball on his final play from scrimmage. It is easier to read and easier to understand. I saw Mr. Leitch posted a screen shot of the Holmes catch, so I think this may be of interest to you guys. Please check it out, there is logic behind the pictures I posted - you just have to read it (again, I am neither a Cards nor Steelers fan. I have no bias. In fact, I am an Eagles fan, so I have reason to hate both teams). Thanks! Here's the link again:

I hate to ask you guys again, but seeing that the Holmes' catch has been defended by Steelers fans with a better screen shot, you HAVE to give me a shot. Especially since Leitch is a diehard Cards fan. PLEASE give me a shot here. I have 2 screenshots proving Warner's HAND, not arm, is going forward. People are trained conditionally to look at the arm...you have to look at the hand and ball only. I will link to it one more time. PLEASE GIVE ME A SHOT. Warner's hand was going forward!!!! (I run a VERY objective Phillies blog. I only react like this when I know I'm right and I truly think I deserve a shot.) But I know you guys get tons of email, so I understand if you don't. Please give me a shot here. I have two screenshots.
