Donovan McNabb on ESPN Radio 980 in DC to talk about whether he was involved with or approved of his agent's statement regarding the strained relationship between he and the coaching staff, if he was upset with his agent issuing a statement, and what his conversations with Kyle Shanahan have been like lately.
Whether he was involved with or approved of his agent's statement regarding the strained relationship between he and the coaching staff:
"Well let's out it this way, I support my agent, I support my agent at all costs and also I think in this situation people need to understand over my 12-year career any conversation that I have or any difficulties that I may have with coaches or any one of some sort I have man-to-man conversations with. That is with Andy Reid and any coach in Philadelphia, Mike Shanahan, Kyle or even my agent. Any conversation that I may have is between us two behind closed doors and it has stays that way. Even working with them this offseason I have kept it professional and never threw anyone under the bus of some sort or any way shape or form, but I think that is what people need to focus in on. Any conversation that I have with any of our coaches it stays behind closed doors. No one knows what has been said, no one knows what has been exposed or questions that has been asked. And again, I support my agent and his thoughts, we have talked. We are all on the same page now definitely and we are moving on from this matter."
If he was upset with his agent issuing a statement:
"I was upset about the reaction to the whole deal. Did you see anything that Donovan said in there or?"
What his conversations with Kyle Shanahan have been like lately:
"I have always said I thought we have had a good relationship. Now, obviously there have been some things put out there, leaked out there as far as me not being able to grasp the offense, me being stubborn in running the offense, me not being able to read defenses, things of that nature. So when you hear things like that you begin to questions a lot of, where it is coming from? Whose thoughts are they? Why am I hearing this?"
Does he still maintains the belief that he knows where the leaks are coming from:
What he first thought of when his agent released the statement last Thursday:
"Well when I read the whole thing I didn't see nothing wrong with it. (Host: So you in essence agreed with what your agent said?) I support him but I mean I didn't write the article, but I support him and his thoughts. Now when I read it I didn't look at it like everyone else did."
Whether he was aware that his agent was releasing a statement:
"I wasn't aware of it but when it came out I was."
