The Cincinnati Reds homered four times and logged 22 hits Monday as they completely embarrassed the St. Louis Cardinals, 15-2.

Starting pitchers Jaime GarcĂa was pulled after one inning of work in which he allowed two runs and four hits. GarcĂa gave up two solo jacks to Joey Votto and Adam Duvall; he was replaced by Michael Wacha, who was even worse. Wacha bled seven earned runs over nine hits in 2 2/3 innings. Luke Weaver relieved him and surrendered five runs in 2/3 of an inning.

St. Louis needed seven pitchers to get through the game; only three of them had scoreless appearances.

Cincinnati’s lineup was on fire. Duvall and Brandon Phillips each had four hits. Reds outfielder Steve Selsky went a perfect 5-for-5 with four RBI.

“You never want to be embarrassed and that’s an embarrassing loss,” Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said after the game.
