Great-Grandmother Banned For Invading Leeds' Soccer Field Just Wanted To Tell Lads She Loved 'Em
Margaret Musgrove, a 63-year-old great-grandmother from West Yorkshire, has been banned from the Leeds United stadium after running onto the field at Elland Road in May. She is much cooler and possibly drunker than your great-grandmother:
Mrs Musgrove, who says she has 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, was caught by TV cameras walking across the penalty area with her arms in the air at the end of the match against Burnley. She was grabbed by stewards and taken to holding cells but was not charged with any offence.
She told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "It's not like I am a hooligan. People who do much worse than this get the same ban."
Mrs Musgrove said she just got carried away, adding: "I just wanted to shout 'Lads, I love you'."
"Mags" has a supportive base urging Leeds chairman Ken Bates to reverse the order, including a Facebook group ( "GIVE MAGS MUSGROVE HER SEASON TICKET BACK MR BATES !!!!!!!"). She's the people's champ in this battle from the land where they actually call people lads and lasses: "Truely hope that he does the decent thing by a good lass like you," writes Louise. As do we.
