Adrian Beltre’s frequently the target of his teammates’ antics, usually when he excels, but the Rangers third baseman had some fun as the instigator with Astros third base coach Gary Pettis Tuesday night.

After fielding a foul ball, Beltre picked up the baseball and tossed it at Pettis’s chest not once, but twice. Pettis took it in stride:

The interaction makes a little more sense with Pettis’s history: Before taking a job with Houston this season, he was a coach for the Rangers from 2007-14. The two are quite familiar with each other.
