Obituary: Please Donate To Tom Brady's Ballghazi Defense
Barbara “Gigi” Shippee of Rhode Island passed away at age 74 on Wednesday. In her obituary provided to the Providence Journal, she asked that friends and family help Tom Brady defeat the Ginger Hammer in court.
From the Journal:
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to “Tom Brady’s Deflategate Defense” as she was the Ultimate Patriots Fan, or to the charity of your choice
“Tom Brady’s Deflategate Defense” is not a known organization or campaign, but Shippee is probably referring to the $1,000,000 the NFL fined the Patriots. A GoFundMe campaign started in May also sought to do the same, but as of this writing, they’d only raised $16,411 of the $1,000,000. It’s also possible that Shippee simply wanted Patriots fans to help Brady pay his attorney Jeffrey Kessler. A judge will rule on the case by September 4 if a settlement is not reached before then.
