Tuukka Rask Shuts Out Chicago Despite "Shitty" Ice; Bruins Lead 2-1
Game 3 actually ended in regulation, a nice change of pace from the first two games, but not before a short scuffle with about 11 seconds left. It looked like it was going to get really ugly for a second, but the refs quickly got control of the action and the game ended without (much) incident. Unless you count Tuukka Rask telling Pierre McGuire about how shitty the ice gets.
Despite the less-than-ideal ice quality, Rask was able to shut out Chicago while his team took control early on in the second period. At 2:13, Danielle Paille knocked one from post-to-post and in to put Boston up 1-0.
Patrice Bergeron then put the Bruins up 2-0 at 14:05 when Jaromir Jagr's favorite player set him up so perfectly on Crawford's stick side that he had time to settle the puck and (again) knock a goal in off the post.
Chicago made a push in the third period—despite a still-toothless power play—but they couldn't break through against Rask. Game 4 is Wednesday night in Boston where Chicago hopes to get a few friendly bounces off that shitty ice, or at least some love from a post or two.
