In Manti Te'o's telling, the Notre Dame linebacker fell in love with Lennay Kekua over the internet. He met her through social media. And the man behind her social media profiles—with social media profiles of his own—was none other than Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.
Lennay's Twitter presence—which at various points had the handles @lovalovaloveYOU, @LennayKay, and @LoveMSMK—went private shortly after her supposed death. Ronaiah deleted his @iWorship account after that, in December, once those with knowledge of the hoax were connecting him publicly to Lennay. "Life is full of fake people," Ronaiah tweeted in October 2011. "But before you decide to judge them, make sure you're not one of them."
A lot of the reporting in our initial story drew on tweets that their senders had intended to erase from cyberspace. That was how we were first able to link Ronaiah to Lennay, and that was how we were able to establish that Ronaiah and Manti had seen each other in late November. But we didn't have full Twitter archives to go on. A helpful source has since provided us with close to complete Twitter archives for Lennay and Ronaiah, from before those accounts were deleted. We present those to you here, helpfully compiled by our Reuben Fischer-Baum. The archive for Lennay includes tweets from other users to her; Ronaiah's archive includes only tweets he wrote.
We've flagged a number of the archive's most compelling tweets in a separate post. We've learned about her imaginary travels to New Zealand, Dubai, and Hawaii. We've followed her interactions with Cardinals fullback Reagan Maui'a, the man who claimed on Wednesday to have met her. We witness her interactions with Manti Te'o and the unfolding of a fake life story. We even see a handful of mentions of Ronaiah Tuiasosopo.
Those highlights can be found here. The full archive can be accessed through the links below. See something? Say something: tips@deadspin.com.
